Safety Eyebolts, Anchors

Eye Bolts/ Ladder hook/ Anchors

Horizon have a long history of providing a service which covers all aspects of safety when working at height. This includes the installation and maintenance of Eye bolts, Ladder Hooks and various personal Anchors points.

Whether you require resin installed eyebolts or ladder hooks Horizon can help.

When it comes to maintenance Horizon's experienced engineers are all fully trained and certified to carry out inspections fully in accordance with BS 7883 & EN 795, to insure that all eye bolts/anchors are safe and fit for use.

It is a requirement of BS 7883;2005 Code of Practice for design, selection use and maintenance of anchor devices conforming to BS EN 795, that all anchor devices for fall arrest should be re-examined at least once every twelve months by a competent person. "Examination" means the removal of the eyebolt for inspection to check that there is no corrosion, wear or other defect. The surrounding structure should be examined for damage. If satisfactory the eyebolt should be reinstalled complete with a new warning disc (showing the date for next examination) set behind the eyebolt, tightened only sufficiently to ensure it cannot be unscrewed by hand and tested to a tensile load of 6kN as required by BS 7883;2005. As far as is possible the installation should also be examined for compliance with all other requirements of BS 7883;2005. Any anchor devices found not to satisfy any of these requirements should be withdrawn from service, which should be shown by a suitable tag, and the reasons for non-compliance reported to the building owner for investigation by a competent person and the necessary remedial action.
